Vikki Stone

You are here

Vikki Stone is an English stand-up comedian, actress, singer and musician. She has been listed by The Observer as one of the Top 5 Comedians to see at the Edinburgh Festival, and was winner of The Soho Theatre One Night Stand Up Award.

Her unique mix of stand up and musical comedy has made her one of the fastest rising stars of British comedy. She performs regularly across the country at major clubs, festivals and theatres as well as appearing regularly on television.

As a child Vikki trained as a classical musician at Wells Cathedral School and in 1997 became Flautist for the National Children's Orchestra. Between 1999-2001 she was a member of the National Youth Music Theatre, performing in various productions. Later training was as an Actor/Musician at Rose Bruford College and then a post-graduate at The Royal Academy of Music. After graduating Vikki toured with Elton John as backing vocalist at venues including The Royal Albert Hall, National Exhibition Centre, and Wembley Arena.

As an actress she has featured in numerous musicals and theatre productions including Beauty and The Beast (Theatre Clwyd), The Ladies That Lunch (Jermyn Street), West End Girls (Jersey Opera House), Oklahoma! (Peacock Theatre), and Times Up! (Shaftesbury Theatre).

As well as acting in theatre productions, it was during this time that she decided to give comedy a go at some open mic nights. After nine such gigs she had been spotted by NBC's Last Comic Standing and made it to the last 20 comics selected in Britain, and was filmed by NBC at The Comedy Store, in London. A year later in 2008 Vikki made it to the final of The Hackney Empire New Act of the Year.

In March 2011 she was nominated for Best New Show at The Leicester Comedy Festival, and the same month became the overall winner of The Soho Theatre Stand Up Award.

In August 2011 Vikki performed her Edinburgh debut show Big Neon Letters, and received highly favourable reviews. Kate Copstick giving four stars in The Scotsman wrote “really very good stand-up, and she delivers quite a punch...cleverly constructed stuff with some terrific one-liners, smart little callbacks woven into not just the chat, but the songs too. She is a woman to watch, I suspect. Those big neon letters cannot be far away”. Big Neon Letters transferred for a run at London's Soho Theatre.

A year later, her second show 'Hot Mess' sold out for the entirety of the festival, with extra shows added due to demand, again receiving positive reviews. In 2013, this show also transferred to Soho Theatre.

In June 2013 Vikki performed her full length show at London's Southbank Centre, as part of the Udderbelly Festival.

In August 2013 her third show 'Definitely' opened at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival.

Her TV appearances include ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ ‘That Sunday Night Show’ and ‘This Morning’ (ITV1). ‘Richard Hammond’s Secret Service’ (BBC1). ‘Most Annoying People’ and ‘Britain in Bed’ (BBC3). ‘The Hilary Devey Story’ (BBC2). ‘Flash Prank ‘(MTV), ‘The Hour’ (STV), ‘Greatest Ever 3D Moments’ (Channel 4)

Her Phillip Schofield Song became an internet hit and was listed in The Huffington Post as The Top Ten Viral Videos in 2012.

You may also recognise her from fronting major ad campaigns for Yakult, Cadbury, and.....Tena Lady!
